LifeChord reached almost 2.1 million clients till date through the mobile messaging service and application throughout the country and beyond. It has reached all 64 districts of Bangladesh with the help of 60+ partners countrywide.
Impact Assessment Mechanism
Being a social enterprise LifeChord not only serves the clients for revenue generation but also focuses on impact of the core objective of this health eco system. Working for social causes and answering to social issues in the health sector. LifeChord conducts regular impact assessment of the service and product. The impact assessment mechanism includes household survey, phone survey, web-survey, customer feedback from in-app scoring.

Impact Result (Internal)
With the Aponjon service, LifeChord has created an enormous impact on the subscribers helping them improve their behavior and health practices. The impact result from all the surveys above has contributed both the behavior and practice of the beneficiaries and improvement of service quality and coverage.
For beneficiaries the impact result is as follows:
– Increased rate of baby delivery in health facilities
– Increased rate of choosing trained birth attendant in cases of home based delivery
– Increased rate of safe delivery kit use in home based delivery
– Increased rate of at least 4 ANC visit among the expectant women
– Created demand of health care information among the targeted group irrespective of their economics status
– Establishment of reliability on the service for expectant, newborn and child care
Based on beneficiary feedback through impact assessment surveys the improvement in service spectrum (quality, coverage and extension) is as follows:
– Introduction and improvisation of quality matrix in terms of acquisition of beneficiary
– Introduction of pushed service migration mechanism for the convenience of the beneficiaries
– Introduction of two-way communication approach through launching of call center & doctor’s line
– Introduction of service in two different dialects, Chittagonian and Shyleti
– Launching of Shogorbha mobile app
– Initiation of early childhood service
Impact Result (External)
icddr,b conducted an independent evaluation research on Aponjon service. The results of the study shows that Aponjon has a significant effect on knowledge & practices for maternal & newborn health. It demonstrate that if the subscribers listened to at least 3 messages per month for a duration of 6 months it creates a significant effect on the behavior and practices.
Satisfaction
With the Aponjon service LifeChord has received remarkable acceptance among the subscribers. 99% of the Aponjon subscribers have found the service satisfactory and 66% have recommended Aponjon to their near & dear ones.
